We know that school holidays can be a tricky time for parents looking to balance work and life commitments while keeping children entertained. We want children to have fun, make new friends and take part in lots of activities, even trying something new and we offer a variety of sessions for children & young people at various venues across the borough.

Your Gymnastics Camp
Your Gymnastics Camp is for children aged 5 – 12 years.
Our British Gymnastics qualified coaches are here to help whether your child is taking part in gymnastics for the first time or wanting to build on their skills.

A holiday club for children with mild to moderate additional needs. Delivered in a fun and safe environment by understanding staff.
Funded by Rochdale Council Short Break Holiday Service.
Children & Young People can access two sessions per week for each school holiday period (10 hours per week).
Venues: Heywood Sports Village and Rochdale Leisure Centre.
Activities: Activities include swimming, cycling, archery, tennis, cricket, water activities and much more!

Teddy Bear’s Paddle Picnic
If you go down to the lake today you’re sure of a big surprise!
This summer, Hollingworth Lake Adventure & Water Activity Centre is bringing outdoor fun to your summer holiday Mondays!
We all know teddies love adventures, so pack a picnic and your favourite bear and take a paddle out onto the lake in our bell boat to find your perfect picnic spot on the lakeside.
Suitable for Ages 4+.
Children must be accompanied by an adult – adults also require a ticket.
Picnic not included – please bring your own.

Intensive Learn to Swim – Non Swimmer
For children aged 3 years +
Stanley 1+2 & Octopus 1
For children with little or no swimming experience. The main aim of the lessons will be to gain confidence and float.

For children aged 3 years +
Stanley 3-6 & Octopus 2,3
For swimmers that are confident moving in the water, submerging and able to propel themselves through the water with/without aids.

Junior Lifeguard
For children aged 8 years +
Children must be able to swim 25m confidently
A survival and rescue training programme that includes lifeguarding skills, first aid, ocean awareness, distance, sports skills and health and wellbeing.

Snorkelling – Beginners
For children aged 8 years +
Children must be able to swim 25 metres
An introduction to basic snorkelling involving swimming along the surface of the water and enjoying the underwater world equipped with a mask, snorkel and fins.

Children must be able to swim 50 metres
The course involves under water routines, understanding underwater communication skills and fin swimming.

Stroke Improvement Clinic
For swimmers who are improving their strokes so that good streamlining is apparent and the limb movements and aquatic breathing is correct for the 3 main swimming strokes.
