25th Anniversary Brereton Memorial Organ Concert
Join us for a special evening of music as we celebrate the 25th Anniversary Brereton Memorial Organ Concert, presented in association with the Oldham, Rochdale and Tameside Organists’ Association.
Renowned concert organist Gordon Stewart will perform a varied and inspiring programme showcasing the rich tradition of organ music, featuring works by Bach, Lemare, Whitlock and other celebrated composers.
About Gordon Stewart
Born in Dundee, Gordon Stewart studied in Manchester and Geneva under Eric Chadwick, Gillian Weir and Lionel Rogg. His achievements include a Performer’s Diploma with Distinction in Manchester, alongside the prestigious Premier Prix and Prix Otto Barblan awards in Geneva.
Gordon spent 15 years working in cathedral music before serving for 30 years as Organist at Huddersfield Town Hall, where he gave regular recitals on the renowned 1860 Father Willis organ. He now holds the title of Organist Emeritus and continues to be celebrated as one of the UK’s leading recitalists.
