Last night, the Prime Minister confirmed that the final stage of easing lockdown restrictions in England is delayed by four weeks and we will remain in the current Step 3 until 19 July at the earliest.

This delay means that current covid-secure measures remain in place at all venues, including capacity limits for activities, social distancing and the wearing of face masks/coverings.

We’d like to thank all of our members, customers and visitors for your support as we continue to follow the current guidance.
We are aware of the frustrations of those who are desperate to use facilities which have yet to reopen such as saunas and steam rooms. The safety of our customers and staff has always been, and will remain, our highest priority. Our risk assessments have exposed the impracticality of opening safely within current covid-19 restrictions.

Like many charities and other organisations, covid-19 has had a significant impact, disrupting our work, financial model and longer term stability.  We will continue working hard, supported by our partners at Rochdale Borough Council, to manage the impacts of the pandemic and support our communities throughout the borough to live active, creative and healthy lives.

We’d like to thank you for sticking with us through these uncertain times.  The last 14 months have been a challenging time for both customers as staff and we are extremely grateful for your support and together, we’ll emerge stronger and more resilient.

We have prepared for when Step 4 does arrive, but just a reminder that it will not mean that things automatically return to pre-pandemic operations and that we will take an incremental approach to the ‘new normal’ to ensure that everyone continues to enjoy their visits.
