Following the government’s announcement, we are extremely sad that we will be temporarily closing Touchstones Rochdale and leisure centres from Wednesday evening (usual centre closing time), for the four-week England lockdown.

This is devastating news for us as a leisure and cultural trust, and we know that it is extremely disappointing for you who use the centres to stay active and healthy. We are a charity and every penny we generate is reinvested to enhance the lives of people through sport, leisure and cultural opportunities. Like so many other businesses we are trying to operate in very difficult circumstances and this closure makes this even harder for us.

What this means for you

We will follow the same procedure we had in place for the initial lockdown in March.

  • Leisure centres will close at the usual closing time on Wednesday 4 November and will be closed for the duration of the national lockdown
  • You will not be able to access our leisure centres during this time.
  • Online bookings for all sessions will be suspended from the centre closing times on Wednesday 4 November.
Health & Fitness Members

All Link4Life memberships will now once again be frozen.

  • If you are a direct debit customer, we will now freeze your membership for the period that leisure centres are closed. Your direct debit payments will be stopped for the closure period. We ask that you do not cancel your direct debit to avoid unnecessary administration when membership can be restarted.
  • If you pay annually for your membership, the period of the closure will be added to the length of your current contract so you don’t lose out.
  • You will not be able to access our leisure centres during this time.
  • Your membership will automatically unfreeze and restart when our centres re-open. We will contact you in the coming weeks to update when we have any further information .
  • Online bookings for all sessions will be suspended from the centre closing times on Wednesday 4 November.

Please note: if you have made a direct debit payment in the last few days, we will organise an automatic refund for this.  You do not need to take any action or contact us but we ask that you are patient with our team as we work to process these as quickly as possible.

Swimming Lessons

All Swim Academy swimming lessons will take place as normal to Wednesday 4 November, after which they will be temporarily suspended until we are able to re-open.

  • If you are a direct debit customer, we will now freeze your Swim Academy membership for the period that swimming pools are closed. Your direct debit payments will be stopped for the closure period.
We ask that you do not cancel your direct debit to avoid unnecessary administration when membership can be restarted.
  • Alternatively, if you have purchased upfront credits, your account will be credited with any outstanding credits ready for when swimming lessons restart.
  • You will not be able to access swimming lessons during this time.
  • We will restart swimming lessons when we are able to re-open centres and swimming pools. We will contact you in the coming weeks to update when we have any further information.

Please note: if you have made a direct debit payment in the last few days, we will organise an automatic refund for this.  You do not need to take any action or contact us but we ask that you are patient with our team as we work to process these as quickly as possible.

Stay Active, Creative and Healthy At Home

We know that culture and leisure has never been as important for your physical and mental wellbeing, and we will be adding new content to the At Home portal to help you stay active, healthy and creative whilst the centres are closed. Please see www.link4life.org/at-home

We’ve loved seeing you back over the last few months and we will miss you all. We would like to say a huge thank you for your support and loyalty and we can’t wait to see you back with us as soon as possible.

We will re-open with all our Covid secure measures as soon as we are allowed. For now, we hope that you and your family stay safe and well during this time.
