We met with the Community Curators to create a new menu of questions with Quarantine for the next No Such Thing that will be taking place at Side-By-Side festival on Saturday 15 August from 10.30am.

This was the third time the group has taken part in No Such Thing. With the last theme being respect, we wanted to think of something that would not only suit the festival but also be a good topic of conversation. Belonging was the theme we went with this time.

Renny from Quarantine opened the session with some prompt questions, some around the sense of belonging and other around physical belongings. This was good to get the group talking and thinking.

We all discussed what it means to belong, where do we belong, how people create the sense of belonging. There were lots of memories, and personal experiences shared by the group. These conversations help to create a better understanding of one another and allow the group form deeper bonds.

During the session we came up with the starters – questions focused on the past, mains questions focused on the now and desserts – questions focused on the future. There is also a special which a wild card question. These questions will act as prompt during the event.

We will revisit the question in our next meeting with the Community Curators to make sure they all feel correct. We will then complete a rehearsal to see how the questions feel in real time and make any amendments that are needed.
