Your Space

During lockdown, many of us enjoyed re-discovering nature in our parks and green spaces, and many of us took up a creative activity to pass the time and combat the isolation. It turns out that doing something creative – knitting, drawing, playing the piano – helps our mental wellbeing. But we knew that, right?

Last year, Rochdale Borough Council put together a report about how creativity supported our local residents through lockdown. It tells how our local organisations changed the way they ran their projects to support their participants; and it tells how local people used creativity to get them through.

This exhibition features some of those stories alongside contact details of local groups you could join to stay creative now lockdown is over.
