We’re making good progress on the major renovation of the Thermal Suite area, transforming the space to better serve your needs and enhance the experience for users.

As part of the upgrade, the current suite is being reconfigured into two separate areas – each with its own sauna and steam room – along with refreshed interiors and upgraded shower facilities. This new layout will allow for more inclusive, flexible programming, with two sessions running simultaneously to better suit our diverse user groups.

As the work has progressed and the old Thermal Suite has been stripped out, some additional challenges have been uncovered resulting in a delay to the planned schedule. Due to this delay, the Thermal Suite will now remain closed until Monday 28 July, when we look forward to welcoming you back to a beautifully enhanced environment.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience this extended closure causes and thank you for your continued support while the works take place to create a space for you to enjoy.

Thermal Suite Layout

The image shows the current floor plan of the thermal suite area at Rochdale Leisure Centre. The diagram is marked with different colour lines to show the proposed boundaries of the area when it is split in two to create two separate areas that will both contain a sauna, steam room, showers and changing area.
