We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Producer and Programmer to join our team at Your Trust.  Currently we operate two theatre venues, Middleton Arena and Heywood Civic Centre. Our Heywood venue is currently closed and about to undergo a fabulous new refurbishment opening in 2025. A third new venue is to be created in Touchstones, our art gallery and museum in the centre of Rochdale. This building is also undergoing a significant transformation – again opening in 2025. Both projects are jointly funded by Arts Council England and Rochdale Borough Council and sit within the borough’s ambitious plans as an ACE Priority Place.

The assignment will kick-start the development of a wide and varied programme of activities covering professional, community, artist development, cultural and sporting genres to grow audiences and participation and increase earned income. Ideally, we are looking for someone with programming experience within a venue as well as someone who has experience in creating and delivering talent development programmes.  You will also be expected to oversee and explore the development of new strategic partnerships, as well as identify and map out income streams to support the delivery of our creative programmes and implementation of the new business model.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and lead on developing and building strategic partnerships with local, regional, national and international show and event producers and organisers;
  • Support the emerging Events Programming Strategy and Business Plan, ensuring a balance of professional, community, cultural and sporting events, capable of attracting diverse audiences that reflect the make-up of the borough; this includes working with external partners, festivals and events, and artist / talent development programmes;
  • Support the Fundraising Manager to develop the fundraising strategy, ensuring income streams are diversified including: lottery, trusts and foundations, local authority and commercial income streams;
  • Contribute to the development of marketing, communications and audience development strategies, promoting the work of Your Trust;
  • Support the recruitment of a permanent staffing structure with appropriate skills mix and experience.

The assignment is expected to last around three to four months with a time requirement of around 3-4 days per week.
