Our 120 acre lake, situated at the foot of the Pennines, offers spectacular views and reliable winds – an ideal sailing venue for all ability levels.
Hollingworth Lake Adventure & Water Activity Centre offers complete beginner sessions for both adult and children, or courses for beginners to more advanced sailors and instructors who are looking for qualifications.
All courses are run to the guidelines and recommendations of the Royal Yachting Association, the governing body for sailing in Great Britain.

Drascombe Sailing Taster Sessions
Fancy sailing but don’t want to go it alone? One of our instructors will take you out in our Drascombe Sailing boat, a stable and easy to sail boat for six people so you can take the helm with back up on board.
Participants must be at least one metre tall and under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.

Does the thought of wearing a wetsuit put you off learning to sail? Not any longer – just wear warm comfy clothes and old trainers and have a go at sailing in a boat with one of our instructors.
During this 90 minute session you will learn how to steer the boat and control the speed with the added safety of an instructor on board at all times.
