From Archives to Artworks!

Working with artist and facilitator Mitch Robinson in a series of sessions, the volunteers have used the archive materials they have been exploring and using them to create artworks linked to the collections.

They enjoyed workshops that included book binding, digital artwork, monoprinting and lino printing to design artworks based on their interests that included the Rochdale Pioneers, the Co-operative Movement, civil rights, women’s history, housing, radical news, music, the CND, symbolism, food and local dialect.

Their hard work and creativity will be displayed in an exhibition at Square Gallery outside Rochdale Town Hall from the 1st September 2026.
