A day of community power and connection, food and belonging. We’ll use conversation as tools for care, reflection and shared understanding and are calling on all communities to unite with us – bring the family along too!
10:30am – 12:30pm – No Such Thing
No Such Thing hosts conversations between two people who might not otherwise meet: an encounter between strangers, shaped, experienced, and remembered by those two people alone.
Hosted by Touchstones’ Community Curators from The Dining Room project, who will be hosting conversations for a free breakfast in exchange.

Create collages inspired by history from Touchstones rich Local Studies archive with the Local Studies volunteers working on the Unlocking Collections project.

11:30pm – 3:30pm – Wellbeing Zone
A soft, welcoming wellbeing installation, designed as a calm retreat space within the festival. You’ll find cushions, mats, and tactile, colourful elements. There will also be gentle, drop-in wellbeing art activities.

1pm – 1:30pm – Welcome: Cake Not Hate
Join us for the opening of the final day and the ceremonial cake cutting for cake not hate! Come along and enjoy some cake and hear from the festival creators the Creative Voices Panel with some sounds provided by local choir Local Vocals.

1:00pm – 2:00pm – Story Saturdays
Fancy escaping into tales of fantasy, adventure and mystery? Come along to storytelling Saturday, listen to your favourite stories, brought to life by the Town Hall’s best tall tale teller. Stick around for hands on activities which delve deeper into the pages. Book your slot below.

Global Cafe’s connect a ‘living network’ of small group conversations that help to bring together communities. There are over 1200 community groups in Rochdale. Join united community groups who will be hosting a menu of activities and conversations with free refreshments available for all. There will be community performances throughout the day.
