Update: 25 July

We are currently working hard to transform the thermal suite space into two separate areas, each with its own sauna and steam room, along with refreshed interiors and upgraded shower facilities. This new layout will allow for more inclusive and flexible programming for all our user groups.

While we’ve been making excellent progress, we’ve recently been informed of an unexpected delay with the delivery of some essential parts needed to complete the works. This is unfortunately beyond our control and will result in a slight delay to our re-opening date. We now anticipate the thermal suite will re-open on Tuesday 5 August.

The thermal suite timetable is currently being finalised and will be published at the start of next week.

We understand this further delay is disappointing and we sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this extended closure causes. Please be assured that we are working hard to minimise any further disruptions and complete the renovation as quickly as possible.

We appreciate that the temporary closure may impact your usual routine, and we’re grateful for your continued support and understanding during this time. While there have been no changes to existing membership payments, we hope the improvements will offer a significantly enhanced experience for all our customers once complete.

We kindly ask that you continue to treat our team with respect and understanding. We recognise that delays can be frustrating but please remember that our staff are here to help and do not come to work expecting to face verbal abuse. Your patience and kindness make a real difference.

Thermal Suite Layout

Information about your membership

Your membership will remain live throughout this period to enable you to continue using the gym, swimming and group exercise classes (depending on your membership type).

Alternative Sauna and Steam Rooms are available at Heywood Sports Village and Middleton Arena for those with eligible memberships.

If you would prefer to freeze your membership during this time, please speak to a member of the team in-centre who can arrange this for you.
